Port Name
field can have the value Modem Port or Printer Port.
Make sure that you are using the proper port.
For the ff.
fields just accept the default settings:
Idle Timeout
(mins) and Echo Internal (secs)
Echo Internal (secs)
If you
want to make use of Terminal window select the option Terminal
window.
Click
New button.
Type in
a title for PPP Server Name.
Select
the speed of your modem from the Port Speed box.
Select
whether your modem is Tone Dial or Pulse Dial.
Type the
dialup number you will use (include country code and
area code if needed) in the Phone Number. You
can check these numbers in our Dialup
Numbers.
For Modem
Init, type the initialization string of your modem. In
case you are not sure about it try atz or at&f1
To use
a Connection Script, click Connect Script (but see
to it that you didn't select Terminal window in the first
screen).
Choose
Wait.
On the
next column type:
Username:
Choose Out.
On the
next column type the actual username.
On the
third column check the CR field.
Choose
Wait.
On the
next column type:
Password:
Choose Out.
On the
next column type the actual password.
On the
third column check the CR field.
Choose
Wait.
On the
next column type:
peak>
Choose Out.
On the
next column type:
ppp
On the third column check the CR field.
For the
next two rows, select Wait.
Click
Ok.
Once you're
back in the first screen, click Open to Connect.
If you
have specified in the previous screen to use a Terminal Window
in connecting, a screen will be displayed asking for your
username, then your password. Then, at the peak>
prompt, just type ppp. But if you created a connection
script your Mac will just read this script.
Observe
the icon at the right side--it turns into a smiling face once
you are connected.
