HOW
TO PUBLISH YOUR WEB PAGES
| 1. |
FTP
to mozcom2.mozcom.com using your account. Using a graphical
FTP Client like CuteFTP
is highly recommended. |
| 2. |
Create
a subdirectory named "public_html" (without
the quotes). |
| 3. |
Upload
(copy) all your HTML documents and graphic files to the
public_html subdirectory. |
| 4. |
Your
main HTML file (the home page, or the page which loads
first) should be renamed "Home.html," "home.htm,"
or "index.htm". |
| 5. |
Telnet
to mozcom.com, then type the command: |
| |
|
| 6. |
Note
the spaces between each term and the underscore character
after "public." Press return, then exit from
Telnet. |
| 7. |
To
access your homepage, use the URL: |
| |
| |
http://www2.mozcom.com/~USERNAME |
|
where
USERNAME is your username or login name. |
|
|
Netscape
users can also use their browser's built-in "Publish"
feature in Page Composer (v4.0+) or Editor (v3.0+) to upload
their pages, and Microsoft FrontPage or FrontPage Express users
should use the Web Publishing Wizard option. However, you must
first know the exact location of your home directory on MosCom's
server; if unsure of its location, send e-mail to root@mozcom.com
to inquire about this.
If you are unable to access your webpage or get "access
forbidden" errors, please report this to Systems
Administration.
